To retrieve records, enter a word or phrase into any of the fields on the left. By default, the fields will be joined by "AND" in the search.
Keywords Help
This field searches all of the indexed TRIS fields. These would include: title, original title, abstract, notes, index terms, subject areas, authors, serial, corporate authors, and other related agencies.
Title Help
Enter a word or phrase to search the record title or original title.
Author Help
Enter an author's last name to be searched. Separate multiple authors with "OR".
Agency Help
Enter a complete or partial agency name to be searched. This field will search on Corporate Authors, Availability Agencies, and Publishers. Separate multiple authors with "OR".
Serials & Conferences
Use this field to restrict a search to a specific serial or conference record. Be sure to check the publications dates to expand or limit the years included.
Subject Area Help
Select from the list of various TRB subject areas.
Record Source Help
Select from the list to refine your search by a specific record source provider.
Index Help
Enter a complete or partial index term or TRB subject area to be searched. Separate multiple authors with "OR" to be exclusive and "AND" to be inclusive.
Search the Transportation Research Thesaurus to find index terms to add to this field.
Date Help
Enter a start and an end date or select one of the presets.
Sort By Help
Use these parameters to change how the records are sorted.
Search Hints:
For an exact match, enclose a phrase within quotes ("").
For a wild-card search, use an asterisk (*) after a partial word.
For a boolean search, use OR, AND, or AND NOT between words or phrases.
A nested search can be performed by enclosing a search within parentheses.
