Abstract: THE EFFECT ON TYPE OF SERVICES AND SERVICE FACILITIES THAT MUST BE PROVIDED TO SATISFY THE DESIRES AND DEMANDS OF THE DRIVERS OF INTERSTATE AND INTRASTATE TRUCKS ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM IN ARIZONA IS ANALYZED. DATA AND INFORMATION GATHERED FOR THIS STUDY SUPPORT THE PREMISE THAT ALL NECESSARY SERVICES FOR THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY SHOULD BE PROVIDED AT ONE PLACE, UNDER ONE OPERATION. TO INCORPORATE A TRUCK STOP WITH CAFES, RESTAURANT FACILITIES AND OTHER NEEDS OR WANTS OF TRUCKERS IS PURELY AN ECONOMIC MOVE SO THAT ALL THE FACILITIES USE ONE PARKING AREA AND RELATED MANEUVERING ROOM RATHER SEPARATE ONES FOR EACH. TRUCK STOPS WERE SURVEYED AND THE FOUR-DAY INTERVIEW WAS CONDUCTED OF TRUCK DRIVERS AT TWO INSPECTION STATIONS. A QUESTIONNAIRE WAS SENT TO THE MAJOR CARRIERS. PRODUCT PREFERENCE IN TERMS OF A SHARE OF MARKET ANALYSIS WAS ANALYZED FOR THREE TRUCK STOP MARKETS IN TERMS OF GALLONAGE.
