Bituminous Paving Mixtures 2007
Accession Number:
01082338
Abstract:
Bituminous paving mixtures are the subject of this collection of 18 papers. Specific topics discussed are: use of the overlay tester; new predictive models for viscosity and complex shear modulus of asphalt binders; moisture susceptibility of asphalt mixtures; estimating directional permeability of hot-mix asphalt; using the surface free energy to identify moisture sensitivity of materials for asphalt mixes; a new moisture-conditioning procedure for hot-mix asphalt; sample size requirements for asphalt pavement field permeability measurements; tertiary flow modeling for asphalt mixtures; hot-mix asphalt mixtures for intersections; optimum number of Superpave gyrations; compaction requirements for stone matrix asphalt mixtures; fracture energy of hot-mix asphalt in cold climates; bulk specific gravity of coarse-graded Superpave mixes; Superpave performance in Specific Pavement Study 9A; resilient modulus of asphalt concrete predicted from the dynamic modulus; effect of polymer-modified asphalt on flexible pavement performance; prediction of fatigue cracking in asphalt pavements; and experience with the gyratory compactor and indirect tensile test in design and control of cold recycled asphalt pavement.
