Abstract:

After reviewing studies and after-action reports of recent hurricane seasons, the Federal Highway Administration concluded that basic guides, checklist templates, and best practices could contribute to the improvement of evacuation planning and capacity building by local, state, and regional authorities. In this article the authors report on the progress, results, and related initiatives.
