Title: SUMMARY OF THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL SKID PREVENTION CONFERENCE
Accession Number: 00173543
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: The conference presented an overview of the current knowledge on how to prevent wet-weather accidents on highways and airfield. The available implementation measures fall into 2 broad categories: those that government agencies must apply, and those that must be made available by industry and accepted by the public. The importance of the cost-effectiveness of measures that reduce the hazards presented by wet pavement is stressed. The difficulties encountered with cost-effectiveness analyses are discussed. Suggestions for future research were put forward by 3 subcommittees.
