Abstract:

New subdivision street standards are under consideration for statewide adoption by the Delaware Department of Transportation. If they are accepted, this will be the first time such "skinny" street standards have been adopted at such a high level of government. The goal is to scale down, traffic calm, and pedestrianize subdivision streets, recognizing that subdivision streets are extensions of residents' living environments.
