Title: RESEARCH PAYS OFF: HIGH-CAPACITY PILES: CONFIRMING THE VIABILITY OF COST-EFFICIENT BRIDGE DESIGNS
Accession Number: 00965529
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: On many bridge projects, the California Department of Transportation has achieved substantial cost savings and has reduced construction time by using large-diameter, high-capacity piles. This was possible because of research that developed a new 8,000,000-pound pile load test system. Details on this system and the benefits that have been realized are provided in this article.
