Abstract:

The roadway environment subsystem, which is one of 8 subsystems of the Wisconsin integrated traffic records system, is composed of integrated files which accept and store information on the characteristics of public roads. It processes and reports incremental data and summary information through the use of standardized controls and linkages, which provide access to the other subsystems of the traffic records system. The roadway environment subsystem for the state trunk network (STN) consists of ten files that include the essential linkage or control keys for cross access of traffic records subsystems. The STN data controls are outlined, and the STN roadway environment subsystem files are listed. Other roadway environment subsystem files are also mentioned: traffic index and traffic counts file; bridge file; and the road inventory file.
