Abstract:

This presentation discusses briefly the challenges faced in dredging and handling of dredged sediments and the investment that has been made in dredging equipment. The remainder of the presentation is devoted to a discussion of the 55-acre Superfund project to clean up Bayou Bonfouca in Louisiana. This project, completed in March 1995, removed 162,000 cu yd (124,000 cu m) of contaminated material.
