Abstract:

The Eleventh Symposium on Geographic Information Systems for Transportation (GIS-T) was held in Salt Lake City, Utah April 20-22, 1998. Thirty-one of the papers presented at the symposium are included in these proceedings. The topics of the papers include: Enterprise architecture; Florida DOT progress; Enterprise integration and data warehousing; GIS use through the Internet; Technical ITS and interoperability; Mobile mapping with GPS; GIS-T applications; Enterprise GIS-T implementation; Benefit cost of GIS-T; Modeling and land use; Successful projects; Interagency cooperation for regional planning; Transportation analysis; and, Temporal considerations.
