Abstract:

In her opening remarks, Susan Kurland, Associate Administrator for Airports, Federal Aviation Administration, welcomes the workshop participants, discusses the workshop purpose, and comments on the workshop agenda. She points out that the workshop discussions should provide a richer understanding of system needs as seen from various perspectives and should highlight the concerns of different segments of civil aviation. In her final remarks at the conclusion of the workshop, she comments on the constructive exchange of views that has taken place and how areas of common ground have been identified.
