Record Type: Monograph
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: The workshop on Airport System Capital Requirements was conducted by the Transportation Research Board's Committee on Intergovernmental Relations in Aviation on April 15, 1997, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., under the sponsorship of the Federal Aviation Administration. The workshop had the broad task of presenting, comparing and discussing estimates of airport system capital needs, and initiating a discussion of how current sources are allocated to meet needs--and whether these sources are adequate to meet both current and forecast demands. Federal budget concerns and airport aid reauthorization activities made this a timely topic. This Circular contains the workshop proceedings which are organized as follows: Opening Remarks, S. Kurland; Summary of Airport Development Needs, P. Aussendorf and C. Chambers; Views of Aviation Organizations (individual reports); Funding Sources and Financing Mechanisms (panel member comments); Individual Comments; Summary and Closure; Final Remarks, S. Kurland; and Appendix A: Participants.
