Title: FUTURE AVIATION ACTIVITIES TENTH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP: WELCOMING REMARKS
Accession Number: 00748100
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Workshop participants are welcomed and reminded that they lay the ground work for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) forecasting activity which will take place at the 23rd FAA Forecast Conference in March 1998. This forecasting activity is an essential component of the FAA's planning process. The forecasts are used to determine staffing levels and capital expenditures that are needed to accommodate the growth in aviation. The forecasts are used for short-term budget preparation, for cost-benefit analysis, and for safety analysis. Questions that need to be addressed by the workshop's five panels--passenger demand, cargo, airports, aircraft fleets, and general aviation--are asked and participants are reminded that their answers will help to ensure that trends, new issues, and economic growth are identified and appropriately considered in aviation forecasts.
