Abstract:

In offering some perspectives on the changing environment in public transportation management and planning, the experience of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) in Clark County, which is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, is discussed. The topics discussed include organizational change, customers and change, the transit industry and change, and the challenge of preserving the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA).
