Arrillaga, Federal Transit Administration, comments on the renewed interest in transit operational and fare issues, the newly established Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), and the availability of funding for transit operational and management research. S.R. Mundle, Mundle and Associates, Chair, TRB Section E--Public Transportation, highlights the activities of the fourteen Committees and Task Forces within TRB Section E. P.L. Shaw, Transportation Research Board, comments on the numerous opportunities for transit research studies addressing high-priority issues that are currently available and the ways that results from this workshop may be used in the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP).
