Accession Number: 00636509
Record Type: Component
Availability: American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) 444 North Capitol Street, NW Abstract: This paper describes a transportation application of TIGER/Line files in Washington State. Functions having a potential use in a geographic information system for transportation modeling are presented. In particular, the functions to develop a state-route highway network from TIGER/Line files are identified. Steps in the database development process are outlined. Strategies for coupling transportation modeling software to a GIS are discussed. Directions for future research on the subject are provided.
