Abstract:

The panel on business aviation developed an overview forecast of new aircraft shipments, the business aircraft fleet, and flight hours through 2001. The panel identified the following as major forces that will shape business aviation in the coming decade: (1) a maturing U.S. domestic market, (2) uncertainty about the fleet of used business aircraft and the linkages between market segments, (3) increasing importance of foreign markets, (4) the level of new product development, and (5) changing expectations among corporate buyers and other operators of business aircraft.
