Abstract:

This workshop presentation gives an overview of the airport and airline security problem and what has been accomplished to date to make airport security systems better and aircraft more secure. Areas discussed include passenger security, screening airline and airport personnel, and anti-terrorism. Recent security improvements are then discussed, followed by an examination of the question of who should have responsibilty for security at an airport. Concluding remarks concern future directions for airport and airline security.
