Title: COMMENTS ON NCHRP REPORT 230 RELATED TO IN-SERVICE EVALUATIONS
Accession Number: 00611703
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: This presentation briefly reviews some of the problems associated with in-service evaluations of highway safety appurtenances, and, in particular, problems experienced by the Colorado Department of Highways in evaluating the field performance of the SERB and Modified Thriebeam guardrails, the Colorado Type 3F Median Barrier End Treatment, and the IBC Median Barrier. It is pointed out that information from in-service performance is invaluable for highway designers and therefore needs to be collected in a rigorous, scientific manner.
