Although it is not intended to be a design manual, it does contain considerable background on the design concepts that are necessary for good earthwork construction. Steinberg; and Instrumentation for Embankments, J.L. Henkes, K.A. Jackura, and W.H. Hansmire. Each of the chapters is entered separately in the TRIS data base.
