Abstract:

Grain transportation problems that concern shippers, terminal operators, and carriers are discussed. These problems relate to rate fluctuations, coordination of grain transshipments, and administration. The consolidated rail/barge tariff which applied to interstate traffic of rail/barge export of corn and soybeans from Milwaukee Railroad terminals in Iowa and southeastern South Dakota is discussed.
