This discussion concentrates on what happened in 1985, takes a look at 1986, and compares the three-year period, 1984-1985 and 1986, to see if developments during these years can provide some insights that will help clarify the future of the aviation industry. Some of the structural changes in the industry that appear to be underway are also examined.
