Abstract:
This issue contains 12 papers concerning travel behavior. Specific topics covered are as follows: multimodal information and ticketing systems in Europe; handling intrahousehold correlations in modeling travel; travel tool ownership of the elderly population; and travelers' risk-taking behaviors. Additional topics include modeling commute mode loyalty and transition behavior; short-term adaptations as a response to travel time increases; adoption and usage of self-driving vehicles; and effect of traveler's nationality on daily travel time expenditure. This issue also covers alternative information formats for stated choice exercises; travel time reliability accommodating heterogeneity of route choice behaviors; assessment of additional time budgeted for commuting across modes; and changes in relationships with child rearing and automobile access from 2000 to 2010.
