Abstract:

This issue contains 16 papers on asphalt materials and mixtures. Specific topics addressed in this issue include the following: hot-mix asphalt permeability; railroad asphalt concrete; creep and recovery behavior of modified asphalt binders; aging of asphalt binder; rheological indexes; a thermal cracking resistance specification framework for modified asphalt; modification of the resistivity-rutting model to use recoverable creep compliance; and the effect of aging on adhesion properties. Additional topics addressed in this issue include: wetting characteristics of asphalt binders; foaming characteristics; oxidation of crumb rubber-modified asphalt; rheological and damage properties of asphalt binders; swollen crumb rubber modulus in asphalt rubber binder; concentric cylinder and parallel plate geometries for asphalt binder testing; asphalt aging; and rheological and chemical characterization of biobinders.
