This report summarizes the events of the Transportation Research Board Second Symposium on Innovations in Freight Demand Modeling and Data, held on October 21-22, 2013 in Herndon, Virginia. The symposium provided key insights into the progress of innovative freight modeling approaches as recommended by the Freight Demand Modeling and Data Improvement Strategic Plan.
