Community transportation plays a critical role for veterans and service members and their families. The Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) has launched a project to explore this topic. This article examines the project's findings, which were published in TCRP Report 164, "Community Tools to Improve Transportation Options for Veterans, Military Service Members, and Their Families." The project explores the transportation needs of the nation's nearly 23 million veterans, including access to the VA medical system, as well as the unique needs of active duty military.
