Title: The Los Angeles Bus Map
Accession Number: 01556540
Record Type: Component
Availability: Transportation Research Board Business Office 500 Fifth Street, NW Abstract: The authors present a map created to show the Los Angeles Bus Network, harnessing data publicly available via the NextBus application-programming interface (API). One full day's worth of data is shown, with every point representing a time stamped global positioning system (GPS) location of a Metro Bus. The map automatically connects each point and calculates the speed of the bus between both points, with faster buses represented by green lines and slower buses represented by red lines. This map is currently in an online format (at www.labusmap.com), but could easily be adapted to print format to meet required specifications.
