Title: Aggregating and Modeling Automated Pavement Condition Survey Data for Jointed Concrete and Sensor Data for Use in Pavement Management
Accession Number: 01519116
Record Type: Component
Availability: Transportation Research Board Business Office 500 Fifth Street, NW Abstract: The paper documents the initial engineering configuration of the new California pavement management system, known as PaveM, and covers the aggregation of sensor data and distress data for rigid pavements from the automated pavement condition survey through to network management sections. The combination of these measurements into condition variables is discussed, along with the decision tree that is used to determine treatments on jointed rigid pavements. The performance models used to predict the future condition are detailed, along with the statistical methodology used to develop them. The paper covers some of the pitfalls in using highly detailed survey data, along with the benefits, and some of the lessons learned in the process.
Supplemental Notes: This paper was sponsored by TRB committee AFD10 Pavement Management Systems.
