Abstract:

This paper presents a strategy adjustment-based transportation management policy for special events, following a process of goal difference seeking, feedback collection, strategy adjustment, intervention and guidance. The investigation on this measure uses the objective-oriented self-potential (SP) surveys, in which objectives are the start point, and the case is of Expo 2010 Shanghai, China. This measure first identifies the differences between the current trip mode choice pattern of potential visitors and the set objectives and finds out how much the set objectives have been met. On this basis, use a structural equation model to analyze the dynamic mechanism of trip mode choice behavior and adjust or modify the transportation management measures and facilities construction so that the practical mode choice pattern can move towards the objectives. After these measures have been implemented, analyze their impacts by comparing the choice patterns between the "before" and "after" of the adjustment of these measures. This paper aims to analyze the effectiveness of the management policy guiding the transformation of trip mode choice and provide a theoretical support for transportation management and organization of special events.
