Accession Number:

Record Type:

Abstract:

Environmental contaminants originating from highway drainage could pose potential impact to the receiving water quality. Under the mandate of regulatory stormwater permits, States are required to implement best management practices (BMPs) in order to reduce the impacts of highway runoff on surface water quality. This paper provides technical guidance and recommendations pertaining to the selection and evaluation of BMP performance for the transportation industry.
