Abstract:

This is the second report published from the Strategic Highway Research Program 2 (SHRP 2) Renewal Project R01: Encouraging Innovation in Locating and Characterizing Underground Utilities. While the first publication focused on reporting existing and emerging technologies and recommending subsequent research work in this area, this report presents the development of the Selection Assistant for Utility Locating Technologies (SAULT). SAULT is a web-based software tool that serves as decision support for identifying effective utility-locating methods for particular site and project environments.
