Abstract:

In a recent symposium, experts from around the world examined the nature of the impaired driving problem among young drivers, as well as a range of strategies to address the problem and improve traffic safety. The author of this article, an organizer of the conference, summarizes and updates the research presented. An insert with this article provides information on the impact of underage drinking laws on alcohol-related fatal crashes of young drivers.
