Abstract:

This is an attempt to study the impact of geometric variations in corridors on the flow of pedestrians. The impact on flow is studied in terms of variations in densities and speed. The results show that corridor edges impact efficiency substantially and asymmetric constrictions have more effect on flow than symmetric constrictions.
