The analysis is based on data from a six-week travel diary carried out in Germany. Driven by the hypothesis that individuals from one-worker households tend to have greater degree of intrapersonal variability in leisure activity-travel patterns compared to individuals in two-worker households, the present study compares the mean intrapersonal variability in: trip frequency, activity duration, travel time and distance traveled between females from one-worker households and females from two-worker households for leisure activity purposes. Similar analysis is also conducted for male case. The results suggest that intrapersonal variability in leisure activity-travel patterns varies across individuals and across households. It further exhibits that the individuals from one-worker households have greater degree of intrapersonal variability for several behavioral patterns than individuals from two-worker households. However, in certain cases, the results surprisingly contradict the hypothesis. Nevertheless, this study supports previous evidences that social characteristics, auto ownership and location affect intrapersonal variability in leisure activities and travels.
