Abstract:

This paper will focus on the issue of customer communications for demand response services. Communicating with your customers is especially important in the demand response world, since it is a highly personalized form of transit service. Proper communication carries benefits to both the agency and the commuter. One of the areas that benefits is public relations. Maintaining good public relations with customers builds good will, which can provide the benefit of the doubt when the occasional problem arises. Getting a good message out helps to build trust and keep customers informed of what you are doing and why.
