Abstract:

To underscore the importance of communicating transportation concepts clearly to the public, the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Planning and Environment Group sponsored a competition to identify the top methods and models for effectively reaching nontechnical audiences. This article contains descriptions of—and images from—the winning entries in the five media categories, demonstrating a wide range of creativity and inspiration. The five media categories are videos, games and tools, graphics, books and booklets, and CD-ROMs and Websites. An insert with this article lists the authors of the award-winning projects.
