Abstract:

This paper examines alcohol policy in Sweden and the other European Union (EU) countries. It looks at the relationship between total alcohol consumption and road safety, discusses the development of alcohol consumption levels in Europe, and examines the consequences of Sweden's membership in the EU with regard to alcohol policy.
