Using a virtual container yard system as a platform for sharing and providing information among the different port players to make freight logistics more efficient by means of street-turns is increasingly considered as a possible solution. This paper describes a simulation model that captures the essential features of such an implementation, and the results for different scenarios of input parameters, system environments and practical constraints in order to make the system feasible are presented and analyzed. The paper concludes with recommendations to achieve favorable conditions for practical implementation.
