Abstract:

In order to solve the air pollution problem of engine scooters in Taiwan, noiseless electric scooters or motorcycles with low pollution have been developed and are also being promoted. Restricted by battery technology, the establishment of recharge facility is an important task to induce travelers' use. Because the primary use of electric scooters is recreation, this paper sets up an optimal location model of recharge stations based on recreation-oriented facility planning. This model is formulated by using integer programming and validated by an empirical case. The results show that it can also be applied to other light electric vehicle in recreational recharge facility planning and design.
