Abstract:

Under National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Projects 3-50 and 3-50(2), "Driver Information Overload" and "Additional Investigations on Driver Information Overload," respectively, Westat, Inc., developed and validated a driver information overload model for freeways and translated the model into a practical tool for traffic and safety professionals to use in analyzing driver information loadings. This CD-ROM contains the Driver Information Load (DIL) Program and User Manual.
