Abstract:

Leader Administration College planned to build its administration building on the campus located at An-Nan district, Tainan, Taiwan. A geological survey showed that the soil underneath the foundation of the administration building was consolidated soft clay, including a portion of stratified sand layer. The differential settlement was estimated to be greater than 1/200. Lateral consolidation was chosen to reduce the differential settlement to 1/250.
