Title: SPATIAL DATA TECHNOLOGIES
Accession Number: 00784237
Record Type: Component
Abstract: The efficient planning, construction, and operation of transportation facilities depend on access to specific spatial data in the right format and at the right time. This paper describes profound technological changes in the field of spatial data as determined by the Transportation Research Board Committee on Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Surveying, and Related Automated Systems. Current trends and developments and future directions for this growth in spatial data technologies, specifically as they apply to acquiring, processing, and distributing this data for use by transportation professionals, are discussed.
