Abstract:

This Circular contains research problem statements developed by the Transportation Research Board's Committee A3B08, User Information Systems. These statements were developed from 1993 to 1996 by committee members in response to observed needs and concerns of the transportation community they serve. From more than seventy-five original submissions, committee review teams selected and prioritized the 22 statements contained herein. The committee's purview includes all modes of transportation and also addresses the interface between modes. User information is broadly interpreted by the committee as any stimulus in a transportation environment that can be sensed by a transportation user and aids the user to better complete a trip or perform a trip related operation.
