Accession Number: 00713803
Record Type: Component
Availability: Jerry M. Faris 4106 Tralee Road Abstract: The efforts of the State of South Carolina in responding to the mandates of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act are outlined in this abstract. A consultant is assisting in the development of a long-range strategic transportation plan by providing macro-level transportation estimates, developing and analyzing alternative intermodal system scenarios, forecasting revenue streams, identifying the preferred scenario, and developing a long-range implementation plan. The paper described in this abstract traces the planning process from genesis through completion of the long-range plan. The limited resources of South Carolina make this work a model for other states in similar circumstances. This abstract appears in a compendium of conference papers.
Supplemental Notes: Additional support was provided by the Puget Sound Regional Council and King County, Washington.
