Accession Number: 00676499
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: These comments concern the state perspective on the certification of testing laboratories for conducting collision tests on roadside safety products. Included are remarks on crash tests for backyard inventions and on the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) approval process. Comments from a few state DOT engineers are presented, and the presentation concludes with a philosophical comment on errant drivers and crash testers.
