Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Bicycles are a frequently used transportation mode in the cities of China. Unavoidably, bicycle parking is becoming a serious problem in urban areas, especially in the central business district (CBD). A bicycle parking study in the CBD of Shanghai, begun in 1987, includes data collecting, parking generation modeling, and parking demand forecasting in the predicting year and suggests a parking plan for the year 2000 and a management package to improve short-term bicycle parking in the CBD.
