Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: The development of interactive-graphic systems for the tactical/strategic planning of intercity freight transportation and distribution systems is discussed, with emphasis on the specification of the interactive-graphic interfaces. The requirements, difficulties, and possible ways of graphically representing the various components of the transportation system are analyzed. A number of general solutions to these problems are presented, solutions that are easily adaptable to other related problems. The discussion is illustrated with computer images obtained from an actual rail application.
