Abstract:

The primary function of equipment managers is to provide an organization with the proper equipment, at the right time and at the lowest overall cost. A major task in accomplishing this function is fleet planning. This discussion presents eight basic steps in the fleet planning process, then examines the ten steps of an economic equipment replacement process.
