Accession Number: 00399338
Record Type: Component
Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: Some interesting applications of transportation data from the census noted by the workshop participants are mentioned, and their recommendations are listed. Participant's supported the collection of transportation data for use in planning major transportation investments. However, it was felt other data sources should be structured to complement the basic census data. Efforts to improve the accuracy and timeliness of geocoding data should continue. Minor modifications should be made to certain journey-to-work questions to improve the usefulness of the data. There is also a major need to improve communications at all government levels. General recommendations and research recommendations are listed. Detailed recommendations relating to questionnaire content, procedures and sample size, geographic coding, data products, compatibility, institutional and administrative concerns are also listed.
