Availability: Find a library where document is available Abstract: This paper presents an approach to analyzing the financial feasibility of a general aviation airport. Specifically, the approach defined was utilized in examining the annual and cumulative financial impact on the city budget of Garland, Texas, a municipality in Dallas County, of building and operating a proposed reliever airport for Dallas/Fort Worth Regional Airport. The financial analysis suggested that, given the use of either constant or current dollars and the existence of a federal aid program, a high activity reliever airport would, over the long-term generate significantly greater revenues than expenses for the sponsoring municipality. Additionally, it would generate significant revenues for the local school district. (Author)
